Patriots Have Little Value in Winning Super Bowl 51 for Bettors: Odds 8-5
The New England Patriots are the favorites to win Super Bowl 51 but at what price?
Gamblers will have to lay $10 just to win $16 or $100 to win $160.
Sure their odds are good. New England not only owns a 13-2 record Straight Up coming into the post season, they also have the best record in the NFL Against The Spread at 12-3.
But the Patriots lost to one team that is already Playoff bound, the Seattle Seahawks, erasing the idea that New England is invincible.
New England also beat Baltimore by just a touchdown in a close game. But it is the more dangerous Pittsburgh Steelers they could end up facing in the Playoffs. Special teams blunders by the Patriots helped keep the game with Baltimore close.
The Patriots can be seen as a “safe” bet to win Super Bowl 51. After all, they’ve notched a few championships over the years. But with other quality teams in the post season, New England should be offered at a more enticing price of at least 2-1 odds.
Shop around or wait and you might uncover a more lucrative payout. At BetFred and William Hill, as an example, the payout would be closer to $19 for every $10 bet but you’ll need to live outside North America to place a wager at either of those two bookmakers.
