Philadelphia Eagles 2013 Super Bowl Odds Longer as Michael Vick Injury Concerns Linger
Online bookmakers originally had the Philadelphia Eagles 2013 Super Bowl odds set closer to 6/1 but, with starting quarterback Michael Vick suffering injuries in both preseason games so far, there is mounting concerns over whether such a trend will continue into the regular NFL season. Bookmaker.eu has pushed the Eagles 2013 Super Bowl betting odds closer to 9/1.
During Monday night’s preseason game against New England, Vick was taken off with an injury to his ribs in the first quarter after being hit by New England defensive end Jermaine Cunningham. X-rays have since come back negative.
In last week’s first preseason game, Vick slammed his thumb in the back of center Jason Kelce's helmet.
Vick missed three games last season after breaking two ribs against the Cardinals in November.
ODDS TO WIN 2013 SUPER BOWL XLVII (+2000 = 20/1 odds, +400 = 4/1 odds, +12500 = 125/1 odds, percentage indicates amount of betting action coming in on particular team).
