Sunday, 8:20 pm Eastern – NBC

In a scheduling quirk, the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are meeting for the first time this NFL season on Sunday.  Because the NFL wants divisional games in the final week of the season they will also play in the final week of the season.  Philadelphia had no success at all last season against the Cowboys, losing both regular season games and the playoff matchup.

Philadelphia is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 50.5 at SBG Global.com

The Eagles would have been better served to face Dallas earlier in the football season. Under Jason Garrett the Cowboys are playing very well having won three of their four games. If not for a Roy Williams fumble they would have won all four.  Dallas is scoring points under Garrett and their defense is forcing turnovers.  They have forced 11 turnovers in the past four games.  The Cowboys did suffer a loss last week though as star rookie Dez Bryant broke his ankle and is out for the season.

Philadelphia has been virtually unstoppable with Michael Vick at quarterback. Only the Chicago Bears were able to slow him down at all. He has a number of weapons at his disposal with receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin and running back LeSean McCoy. This game on Sunday might have been a letdown spot for the Eagles since they play the New York Giants next week but because the Cowboys eliminated them from the playoffs last year there is no question the Eagles will be focused on Sunday night.

Here are the football betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in December. The Eagles are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favorite. The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Cowboys are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games in December. The Cowboys are 1-10-2 ATS in their last 13 games in Week 14.

The Over is 4-0 in the Eagles last 4 road games. The Over is 7-1 in the Eagles last 8 games overall. The Over is 7-0 in the Cowboys last 7 home games. The Over is 5-0 in the Cowboys last 5 games as an underdog. The Over is 10-1 in the Cowboys last 11 games overall.
