Raiders to Draft Michael Penix Jr. Betting Odds
The Las Vegas Raiders are favored to pick quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. but this is far from a sure thing.
Penix Jr helped lead the Washington Huskies into the National Championship game where they would go on to fall to Michigan, 34-13. He led his team to an undefeated 13-0 record last season. He also led the NCAA in passing yards, with 4,903, beating his previously set University of Washington single-season passing yards record.
The payout should he land in Las Vegas would be $300 for every $100 bet.

"Michael Penix Jr. is one of the more mysterious prospects in this draft due to the simple fact that it seems like nobody knows where he'll come off the board. His range spans from the backend of the top 10 to the top of the second, but we have the Raiders swooping in with a trade-up to bring the Washington product to Las Vegas. The Raiders jump ahead of the Broncos to secure Penix and New York gains some capital without drastically moving down the board."
The Vikings have the second shortest odds (tied with Denver) to select Penix, Jr at +500 but Dustin Baker of VikingsTerritory.com doesn't see it happening.
"Penix Jr. isn’t incredibly accurate like other quarterbacks in this draft class, and Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell covets that trait in his quarterbacks."
As for Denver, the Broncos could find themselves with the lone second shortest odds come Thursday.
Predominantly Orange's Kyle Collis writes:
"Penix has incredible arm talent and has seen his draft stock rise through the combine and his pro day. He also fits well with the Broncos current receivers. Cortland Sutton, assuming he is still a Bronco when the season starts, is a spectacular catch machine who can win any jump ball if given the chance. Giving receivers a chance at deep balls was something that Penix did well at Washington last season with his talented receiving group. And now, with Jerry Jeudy being traded to the Cleveland Browns, Marvin Mims Jr. has the chance to really show out in the 2024 season."
