Ravens vs. Eagles Pick: NFL Week 2 Line at Philadelphia -1
BetOnline’s Tony Bryant offered up his Ravens vs. Eagles pick for Week 2 of the 2012 NFL regular season. The line on this game at BetOnline had Philadelphia at -1, however, there were a few holdouts at -2.5, where the number initially opened.
The betting public was all over the Ravens spread at around 85 percent.
Bryant predicts an underdog win here as the oddsmakers are working to get more action on the Eagles with the 1.5 point drop.
“Baltimore is a comprehensively better team than Philadelphia. The Ravens won't dominate, but they should outplay the Eagles to a considerable degree and walk away with a win.”
He offered up this assessment of the Baltimore Ravens: “Both sides of the ball delivered the goods for Baltimore. Whether it was veteran safety Ed Reed reacting like a 24-year-old to pass plays on defense, or quarterback Joe Flacco producing a strong effort under center, the Ravens flourished, throwing down the kind of performance that should make every other team in the AFC take notice. With Pittsburgh, the Ravens' foremost rival in the AFC North, losing to Denver, it's quite reasonable to say that the Ravens – the defending division champions – are in good position to repeat after one week. It's early, but Baltimore has to be very encouraged about its direction in 2012. Optimism is a good thing to have in a locker room after that first regular season game.

Bryant added: “What should also help the Ravens is that Philadelphia is struggling. The Eagles committed five turnovers against Cleveland in week one. Quarterback Michael Vick threw four interceptions, a reasonable indicator that the once-dynamic signal caller remains a hesitant and diminished player following a decidedly mediocre 2011 season. If Vick is not right, there's no way Philadelphia can win.”
These two teams met back in 2008 and Baltimore clobbered the Eagles then.
