The Cowboys-Redskins line was coming in at Dallas -5.5 for this Monday Night Football showdown but be careful here as Washington is currently sitting with a 2-0 record and leads in the NFC East.
Sports bettors need to pay special attention to the injury status as it applies to the Cowboys.
The Cowboys-Redskins line opened at -4.5 and even on Saturday few of the books were offering a number on this game.
While tight end Jason Witten, running back Felix Jones and wideout Dez Bryant were listed as probable as of Saturday, WR Miles Austin has since been downgraded to doubtful while Phil Costa and Derrick Dockery are expected to miss this game on the offense.
Willie Bee of DonBest.com noted: “The injuries on the line come at a bad time since this week of all weeks is one the Cowboys need their quarterback protected. Tony Romo is officially probable after cracking a rib and, oh yeah, puncturing a lung in his gutsy performance during last week's overtime Win at the 49ers.”
While Dallas may have been victorious in 4 of the last 5 in this series, only 2 of those games were won by more than the current spread.
“Having Rex Grossman for your QB is a bit like having your No. 3 starter in baseball take on the other team's ace each week, but he has gotten the job done to this point,” Bee commented.
