Following Seattle’s win over the reigning Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, the oddsmakers are showing a little more respect for this under .500 Playoffs team with the Seahawks-Bears line opening at -9.5 in favor of the Bears.  Odds on this game were posted immediately following Green Bay’s win over Philadelphia Sunday night.

This number is in stark contrast to the home point spread posted in Seattle’s game against New Orleans whereby they were a double-digit underdog of +11 at some sportsbooks.  Now on the road, oddsmakers are keeping this one in single digits.

Chicago secured a Playoffs berth and home field advantage with the bye prior while the Seahawks played this weekend.

Seattle stunned the Saints Saturday with a 41-36 win.  They were the first team to ever make the Playoffs with a losing record.

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck brought his team back from 10-0 and 17-7 deficits and managed a 24-3 run in the second and third quarters.  He also threw for 272 yards and the four TD set a playoff career high.

"It wasn't just one thing, it felt like everyone did a little something to help us get the win," Hasselbeck said. "It was just an awesome feeling."

Initial betting volume numbers were not in at the time this story was being published.
