Should I Bet the Tulane Green Wave in College Football This Week?
For anyone looking to bet the Tulane Green Wave, Gambling911.com has some important considerations beforehand. Live odds can always be found at BetOnline here (up to $1000 in welcome bonus money available).
Week 5 @ Houston Cougars
Tulane got through a game against Kansas State mostly unscathed with a 17-10 victory but fell to Southern Miss by three points last week. The Green Wave are certainly battle tested coming into this game against Houston.
Tulane is currently rated at No. 63 on Sagarin with a number of 70.98. Houston comes in at No. 70 with a number of 69.39 plus home field advantage. We get 0.3 favoring the Cougars. Our line is Houston -2.5, which is a two-point overlay. This line had not crossed above the 3 (a few books opened at that number).
We have had 13 monitored games that remained at -3/-2.5 and below this season. Eight of those were covered by the favorite.
There have only been a handful of overlays in this line range, all larger than this one.
Boston College, North Texas and Vanderbilt were each +2.5 road dogs where the favorites covered. Baylor was a +2.5 away dog that covered. Notre Dame also covered at the number as a dog last week but the line was more fluid, going from +2.5 to +1.5 and back up to +2.5 again.
The away team has won six of the last eight games in this series.
As a home favorite since 2017, Houston has only lost four games out of 21 Straight Up.
You might want to consider taking Houston on the moneyline here as Tulane has gone 2-19 Straight Up since 2017 as an away dog.

Week 4 vs. Southern Miss Golden Eagles
Tulane was a -12 favorite hosting the Golden Eagles. This was a pretty significant upset, especially considering that Southern Mississippi had come into the matchup winless.
Michael Pratt’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Jha’Quan Jackson for Tulane capped the scoring with 19 seconds left.
Tyjae Spears ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns for Tulane (3-1).
Week 3 @ KSU Wildcats
This was supposed to be the Green Wave's toughest test of the early season. As a +13.5 road dog, they not only covered the spread, Tulane won the game outright.
Michael Pratt overcame two costly interceptions with a 4-yard touchdown pass to win 17-10.
It was Tulane’s first road victory over a Power-5 conference school since beating Rutgers in 2010.
“I’m very proud of the whole team,” head coach Willie Fritz said. “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve worked extremely hard. We’re pumped up and excited. It’s great for the program.”
