Should I Bet on the UCLA Bruins This Week in College Football

UCLA has played some excellent football this season.  They were coming into Week 10 with just one loss so far.  Against The Spread they have fared well, going 6-3.

Considerations Before Betting vs. Arizona

We tend to stay away from larger than 14 point favorites.  UCLA comes into this game as a -20 home favorite after opening at -18.5.  We do not recommend betting on the UCLA Bruins this week.

Only Oregon had a better standing among the PAC 12 rankings as of this week.

Kyle Bonagura of ESPN.com writes of the Bruins: "It's tempting to look forward to the much-anticipated game against USC on Nov. 19, but first the Bruins must get through Arizona (3-6) to keep the stakes as high as possible for the battle of Los Angeles. After that, it's Cal to finish the season. Any loss in the next three could cost the Bruins a shot in the Pac-12 title game and a possible New Year's Six berth."

UCLA Bruins 2022 Season

With spreads mostly in the double digits, we've only examined a few games this season that featured the UCLA Bruins.

3 (Above and Below)

Washington -3.5 to -2.5 @ UCLA (September 30) - UCLA was not expected to win this game but did, by double digits no less. Washington came in for us at 6.53, suggesting a 3.5 to 4.5 underlay here.  This one ended up going against a pretty hot trend where the base number of 3 and underlays were mostly seeing favorites come out on top (15-3 ahead of Week 10).

Utah -3.5 / -4 / -4.5 @ UCLA.  The Bruins cover and win once again as a home dog.  We got a number of Utah 4.06.  This line we determined to be accurate.

7 (Below)

UCLA +6 to +7 Oregon - The home favorite Oregon covered and wins by 15 points.  Heading into Week 10, this represented the Bruins only loss.  We got a number of Oregon 8.03, indicating an underlay of 1 to 2 points.

10 (Above)

UCLA -10.5 Arizona State - UCLA as the road favorite covered and won by 14.  We had an overlay in this one.
