Wayne Rooney’s odds of staying at Manchester United were longer than his potential departure, at least where Skybet is concerned.

The British-based online bookmaker had Rooney’s odds of leaving Man United at 4/7.  Compare that to the 5/4 odds of Roony staying.

Rooney is determined to depart Old Trafford as Chelsea is prepared to offer a second bid after their initial £23m offer was flatly rejected.

United continue to insist that Rooney is not for sale.

Rooney was rubbed the wrong way after United manager David Moyes recently suggested that the 27-year-old will play second fiddle to Robin van Persie.

Sky Sports Graeme Souness weighed in: "Manchester United have put themselves in very difficult situation, but I don't think they can sell him to an English team."

57 percent of those placing wagers at Skybet believe Rooney will ultimately leave Manchester United.
