Spartans Were Bookie Slayers on Saturday

The most wagered on side in College Football Saturday was none other than the huge underdog Michigan State Spartans, who just happened to win outright against the reigning champions Ohio State.

The only folks unhappy with this 17-14 victory other than Buckeyes players and fans – the bookies.  75% of the betting public was backing MSU.

Bookmakers shouldn’t be griping though as the Spartans failed to cover in their first seven games of the season.  They have since gone on to cover in their last four.

Michael Geiger knocked in a 41-yard field goal as time expired to hand Urban Meyer the first regular-season Big Ten loss of his career with Ohio State -- and his second significant defeat at the hands of the Spartans.

Michigan State controls its destiny in the Big Ten race and is back in reach of a berth in the College Football Playoff as a result of the win.
