The Patriots are favored in this game and it seems everyone in the media and the public is wondering why New England is favored. Whenever the oddsmakers seem to know more than the public they are usually right but we don’t want to give away our pick just yet.
New York Offense vs. New England Defense
The Giants have a good, but not great offense. They were very inconsistent at times during the regular season but in the playoffs they have been pretty solid. Eli Manning is an elite quarterback and New York has very good receivers in Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. The Giants don’t have much of a running game even though Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw are big name players. The New England defense was rotten during the regular season but in the playoffs they have gotten healthy. Vince Wilfork is playing great in the middle and with Patrick Chung healthy again in the secondary the Patriots are better than their numbers indicate.
New England Offense vs. New York Defense
The Patriots have a very potent offense that is not going to be stopped. Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and he will spread the ball around to all of his receivers. The injury to tight end Rob Gronkowski is a concern but he will play and there are plenty of other weapons for the Patriots. New York’s defense wasn’t very good during the regular season either but they have improved in the playoffs. The key will be whether or not they can pressure Brady into making mistakes.
Super Bowl 46 Picks
The Patriots lost three games this season and in those three games they turned the ball over as Brady had six interceptions. Brady played poorly against the Ravens and New England still won. He won’t have a bad game again in the Super Bowl. The Patriots are playing for the late Myra Kraft and they are going to deliver a Super Bowl win.
