ESPN.com says of this game: The last time these teams met was in the 2007 SEC championship game, a 21-14 Tigers win that propelled them to a BCS title. Tennessee has since fallen on hard times while LSU has yet to reclaim that lofty perch. Les Miles has reaffirmed his faith in his struggling starting QB Jordan Jefferson, who hasn't thrown a TD pass or eclipsed 100 yards in his past three games. He could be on a short leash.
It has been LSU's running game and special teams that have allowed them to achieve an unbeaten record up until this point. The Tigers have won 2 of their last 4 games by more than the current spread of 15 ½. In those games, Gambling911.com notes, the spread was even less in favor of LSU.
"We still understand that there's work to be done," coach Les Miles said. "But, I enjoy the fact that we are undefeated. I want to stay there as routinely as possible."
In recent matchups, LSU has beaten Tennessee by 7 and 4 points, respectively.
The Volunteers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog of 10.5 or greater.
TheTigers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater.
