Oddsmakers have the USC Trojans winning UNDER 10.5 regular season games in 2017 priced at -145 while the OVER would pay out $115 for every $100 bet or $11.50 for every $10 bet.

Southern California has the 4th shortest odds of winning the 2018 College Football National Championship game.  They won 10 games last year, 8 the previous year and 9 in the year before that.  Assuming this is an even better Trojans squad, it’s easy to see this team losing no more than 2 regular season games, which would result in 11 victories.

Athlon writes this of USC’s upcoming season:

The resurgence of USC, coming off its best season since the Pete Carroll era, is expected to continue, with the program inching toward its first conference championship in nearly a decade and first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff.

(Sam) Darnold, considered among the early favorites for the Heisman Trophy, adds credence to the hype. But the Trojans remain young. More than 50 of their 85 scholarship players will be underclassmen.
