Vikings-Eagles NFC Conference Championshiip Game - What the Line Should Be
Resident bookmaking expert Tony Caliente takes a look at the line on the Vikings-Eagles FC Championship game and assesses what that number should be based on the NFL Betting Power Rating. A win by the Vikings would mean they have home field advantage in Super Bowl 52, technically the first time this has ever occurred. Both the Rams (Super Bowl XIV) and 49ers (Super Bowl XIX) have played in Super Bowls in nearby regions.
Carson Wentz has been out for the Eagles for a few weeks now and, as such, their power rating should have been adjusted though we still believe it could be off by about a point.
The NFL Betting Power Ratings do suggest that Philadelphia, not Minnesota, should be favored by -1.5 to -2 points. Instead we are seeing Minnesota as the -3 point favorite.
Action was balanced with none of the books moving off the -3 in four days after opening at -3.5.
This is a difficult game in which to predict though it seems the books are of the belief this one could be won by a touchdown. Again, the Power Ratings do point to an Eagles cover or outright victory.
