The Vikings-Panthers line was at -3 early in the week at BetOnline.com

It’s not every day that we here at Gambling911.com get excited over a game heading into Week 8 of the NFL regular season between two teams that have a total of three wins between them.

The Vikings-Panthers game will be different.  Carolina, despite just having two wins, has managed to play well Against The Spread each week and won outright against Washington on Sunday.  This has just about everything to do with rookie Cam Newton.

Likewise, Christian Ponder was named the new starter for Minnesota on Sunday and his play was stellar during the first half even if the Vikings blew their early lead in the end.

Tony Bryant of BetOnline.com noted:  “There have been rumors swirling around Vikings’ camp that backup quarterback Donovan McNabb is unhappy with the team’s decision to go with Ponder, but it’s hard to argue against the 219 yards and two touchdown passes he threw against the defending Super Bowl champions in a loss that was much closer than many expected it to be.”

Of course Ponder also managed to throw two interceptions in the second half.
