Minnesota may have saved its postseason hopes by beating the Dallas Cowboys 24-21 just as my NFL free betting tips predicted in last week’s multi-game betting breakdown.

The Vikings covered the NFL betting lineas a 1-point home favorite while playing Over the set O/U total for the second consecutive game.

Green Bay lost its second straight games in falling to the Miami Dolphins 23-20 in overtime while failing to cash in against the NFL betting lineas a 3-point home favorite and playing Under the set O/U total for the second consecutive game.

Check out these key, head-to-head trends surrounding this matchup.

  • Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
  • Vikings are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Green Bay.
  • Road team is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 meetings.
  • Underdog is 17-5 ATS in their last 22 meetings.

Minnesota Vikings (2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS, 2-3 O/U)

Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NFC.

Vikings are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NFC North.

Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.

Brett Favre completed 14 of 19 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown while Adrian Peterson rushed for 73 yards and another touchdown on 24 carries to lead Minnesota to victory. Linebacker E.J. Henderson picked of Tony Romo twice in the win.

Green Bay Packers (3-3 SU, 2-4 ATS, 1-5 O/U)

  • Packers are 5-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. NFC.
  • Packers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.

Aaron Rodgers had a mediocre day in completing just 18 of 33 passes for 313 yards with one TD and one interception while getting sacked four times and harassed throughout the contest as the Packers rushed for just 62 total yards.

Analysis: The Packers are not looking very good as they come into this contest with a rushing attack that is almost non-existent, forcing Aaron Rodgers to deal with constant pressureand I don’t expect that to change in this contest as Minnesota gets after the gifted signal-caller with their fifth-ranked defense.

My free betting tips for this contest say to buck each team’s recent O/U trends and play the Over first and foremost for this matchup.

The two division rivals have played Over the set O/U total in four straight meetings and five of the last six meetings overall with each of the last three O/U totals being at least 44 points and the last two at 46 points or more.

I think Minnesota will be more efficient on offense each week that Randy Moss is with the team and I believe the Packers will at least reach the 20-point plateau even without much of a rushing attack.

In addition to playing the Over in this matchup, my free betting tips also say the Minnesota Vikings will cash in against the NFL betting line after going 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games while the road team in this rivalry has gone 12-4 ATS in their last 16 meetings.

NFL Pick: Over 44 Total Points/Minnesota Vikings +2.5 Points
