The Indianapolis Colts won't go 16-0 for the regular season. No reason to think they will. The Colts don't have the same cut-their-hearts-out mentality that powered New England during the Patriots' perfect season and, given their chance again, the Patriots would sooner have taken the Giants' 10-6 record that year if they could have got the Super Bowl as well.

That said, the Colts won't meet their Waterloo this week at Baltimore. It's a made to measure banana skin game for Indianapolis, in its way - a proud, hungry team at home against a team that has to be thinking about the playoffs already, a team desperate to win against a team for whom the win doesn't really matter as much.

Only thing is, the Ravens are not who they were. The defense has got old, and they're almost certainly going to be without Terrell Suggs after he got hurt against Cleveland on Monday Night Football. So, even though the Ravens would love to crush Peyton Manning, it doesn't look like they'll be able to, which means that Manning will do what he does best - cut them to bits. Indianapolis -1.5 with Sports Interaction is the first of my Week 11 NFL picks.

Elsewhere, you know that the New England players are just steaming mad about losing in Indianapolis and the Jets are more than likely going to feel the weight of the Patriots' wrath. The wheels have fallen off the Jets' season completely this year as opposition teams had more Mark Sanchez footage to study than they had in the opening weeks, and the losses to injury of Leon Washington and Kris Jenkins were no help, obviously. The line isn't that tempting - not least as we got hung on the Patriots by half a point two weeks ago - but history tells us that Bill Belichick will be eager for a statement win this weekend when the Jets visit Foxboro. New England -10.5 with Sports Interaction is the pick.

Finally, every betting instinct tells the clever bettor to beware warm weather terms in cold weather ballparks. But even in the light of this, and in the light of the 49ers' not that impressive win over Chicago while Green Bay stomped Dallas, I can't get it out my head that 6.5 points is just too big a start to resist investing. The Packers have struggled to protect Aaron Rodgers all season, and the San Francisco defense can get to him. Frostbite notwithstanding, I like the Niners to cover. San Francisco +6.5 with Sports Interaction is the final pick of the week.
