What the Bookies are Saying: Redskins vs. Saints

Resident bookmaking expert Tony Caliente discusses Sunday’s NFL game between the Redskins and Saints.

The Saints are winners of seven straight and, as a result, have become one of the teams most talked about to play in Super Bowl 52.  In fact, New Orleans this week is ranked number two in the NFL Power Ratings, one position above that other superb team in 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles.  New England ranks as number one.

The line on this game has moved from -7.5 to -9.5 and the action has balanced out as a result.

What is most intriguing here is that the oddsmakers opened the line nearly three points below where it should have been.  The Saints should be a -10 point favorite here with a slight skewing towards -10.5.

New Orleans area bookies and those throughout the southern states where the Saints enjoy a strong fan base should be more inclined to offer New Orleans at -9.5.
