What Should The Line Really Be on the Fresno State vs. Wyoming Game?

Wyoming at 4-1 suffered their first loss of the season as Brad Roberts had 33 carries for 140 yards and a touchdown and Haaziq Daniels threw a TD pass for Air Force beating Wyoming 24-14.

Fresno State comes into this game 4-2. Hugh Nelson II intercepted a pass at Hawaii's 2-yard line with 9 seconds left after Matthew Shipley kicked a tiebreaking 33-yard field goal with 3:33 remaining, and the Rainbow Warriors rallied to beat No. 18 Fresno State 27-24 Saturday night.

So now we have Wyoming with a power rating of 72.16 and Fresno State 70.40.  With home field advantage we have a line of Wyoming -4.5.  In other words, the wrong team appears to be favored.

One can argue that the Cowboys have had a relatively weak schedule to date but that doesn't explain this team having a better record than the Bulldogs.  We're also not seeing any notable injuries that would account for this.

Something else to consider here is the Wyoming 1-3-1 record Against The Spread, although this adjustment by the oddsmakers is not as urgent.

The IT factor could be Fresno State's dominance over Wyoming of late.  They've won four of the last five, and three of those were in dominating fashion.
