Florida State has officially named its starting quarterback for the 2024 season.
Earlier Sunday, the team released its first depth chart of the year, providing clarification on a handful of positions across the roster. To no surprise, redshirt senior signal-caller DJ Uiagalelei.
Florida State has landed in the top-10 in preseason AP top 25. Their odds for 2024-2025 include winning 9.5 regular season games. They pay out $3000 for every $100 bet to win the 2025 NCAAF Championship.
“I am really proud of our guys for all the work they put into our off-season program...We have a lot of guys that we’ve seen tremendous steps," Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said this past week.
“Now it’s time to go kick it off. To be able to do so in the first game this season is definitely a tremendous honor.”
Norvell added in regard to Game 1 of the new season: “For the most part, we are about as good as you could hope for. We have a couple of guys who will be game-time decisions, but I think it will be as good as we could hope for.”
“This is probably the most preparation I’ve ever had going into a game. This has been a year-and-a-half-long process...There is a very specific plan in place, and I think our guys have a lot of confidence. We’ve got to go out there and execute it.”
Georgia Tech Player Prop Bets
Leading rusher Jamal Haynes and leading receiver Eric Singleton Jr. return for the Jackets in 2024. As a sophomore in 2023, Haynes rushed for 1,059 yards and seven touchdowns. Singleton caught 48 passes for 716 yards and six touchdowns in 2023.
The Yellow Jackets have an experience advantage in this matchup and are widely expected to have one of the ACC's best offenses in 2024. Quarterback Haynes King returns for Georgia Tech after enjoying a breakout season in 2023. Look for plenty of prop bets for him ahead of this game.
Despite all of this, Georgia Tech is only expected to win 5 regular season games in 2024.
