Gamblers Demand FanDuel Void Gabe Davis Bets
The Bills have already clinched a playoff berth but they may have lost star wide receiver Gabe Davis following an injury against the Miami Dolphins Sunday night. Davis entered Week 18 with 45 receptions for 746 and seven touchdowns. He’d played more offensive snaps (948) than any Bills wideout. More details about his injury should be forthcoming shortly.
Davis hobbled to Buffalo’s sideline midway through the second quarter to be examined by the club’s medical staff.
The Bills initially announced that Davis was questionable to return with a knee injury. However, Buffalo officially ruled him out at the start of the second half.
He had not caught a pass in Sunday night's game before exiting.
By late Sunday evening, gamblers took to Twitter to ask if sportsbook FanDuel would refund all Davis prop bets.
"Gabe Davis got hurt on the first play of the game, are his prop bets going to be voided?," one person asked.
Gambling911.com previously reported on how FanDuel violated its own policy this fall by when it voided bets on an NBA player who only appeared briefly in a game while failing to do the same for another popular player who exited a game after approximately three minutes.
From Gambling911's Thomas Somach:
"Los Angeles Lakers star Antonio Davis, who had been out for almost six weeks with a foot injury, came off the bench and scored 21 points in the Lakers 113 to 104 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
"FanDuel voided prop bets on Davis though because he didn’t start the game and played only about eight minutes. Then, a night later, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic exited the game about three minutes into the first quarter of the Mavs' 99-95 win over the Phoenix Suns with an ankle injury and did not return.
"Proposition bets involving Doncic were not voided by FanDuel, despite the fact that he did not play long enough to achieve any of his props."
FanDuel's voiding of player prop bets hasn't been forgotten by gamblers apparently.
Another individual tweeted:
"I don’t fucking understand how they just steal from people like this. I get it if he played the whole game and got nothing. Or if he played a quarter. This man didn’t even finish a DRIVE."
Others threatened to take their business elsewhere.
"If @FDSportsbook doesn’t void this Gabe Davis prop I’m going to Draftkings. His prop never opened! I never complain about voiding but this is too much of a coincidence"
FanDuel customer service later made it clear they would not be voiding bets on Davis.
"Hello! Per our House Rules: “if a player has taken any part in a sporting event once it has officially started and then fails to complete that event for any reason, any bet placed on that player will not be voided” If you have any questions, send us a DM. We're happy to help!"
