Joseph Graziano, 78, of Springfield, New Jersey, learned his fate Tuesday coming before Judge Claire Cecchi.

Federal prosecutors claim that, unlike most other Pay Per Head businesses operating offshore where such call centers are legal, BetEagle.com had ties to mobsters who would regularly intimidate customers and threaten those who failed to pay.

Prosecutors further allege that BetEagle was actually headed by alleged Genovese Crime Family capo Joseph "Pepe" Lascala, 83, of Monroe.

It was Graziano who had been captured in surveillance recordings bragging about how much money was being generated by his bookmaking business.

"I got 49 people. These kids get two thousand each," he said. "If at the end of the year I can make two million and I gotta give away, like four or five hundred (expletive), that's a million and a half, you know. My money."

The U.S. Attorney's office said mob associates were provided with access to the Beteagle website and worked as "sub-agents” using colorful handles like “The Worm”, “Harpo” and “Frankie The Flea”.

Another man implicated in the scheme, Dominick Barone, 45, also of Springfield, was sentenced to 18 months prison on June 16.
