‘Racist’ PR Guru Finds Herself at Center of Daily Fantasy Sports Scandal

Justine Sacco, who was fired from Barry Diller’s IAC/InterActiveCorp media empire for an offensive Twitter comment about AIDS, has landed a job at Daily Fantasy Sports site FanDuel and once again finds herself in hot water.

FanDuel is in the midst of an epic backlash after it was revealed an employee of DraftKings with access to insider information won $350,000 in a FanDuel contest.  At the time, neither company had a policy regarding its employees playing on competing websites.  Once outed Monday, they immediately changed their tune.

Sacco has been put in charge of cleaning up the public relations mess, which has only led to more head scratching.

The racist tweet that got her fired from IAC/InterActiveCorp media:

Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS.  Just kidding!  I’m white!

Sacco sent out her tweet to more than 4,300 followers as she boarded a plane for South Africa from London’s Heathrow Airport.

FanDuel it appears hired her two years later.

“The issues facing this company have nothing to do with my personal history or events I have previously acknowledged and apologized for,” Sacco said in an e-mail to The New York Post. “My focus now is telling the story of FanDuel, so people properly understand our company and our industry.”

Telling the story of FanDuel?

“We operate based on the trust of our players,” Sacco told ESPN.  “This is not a new issue for us as a company or an industry.”

Now that’s comforting!  NOT!!!!
