2009 World Series of Poker Update (Friday Night July 10)
Here is the 2009 World Series of Poker update as we head into the evening Friday July 10.
Some of the 10 notables range from James Akenhead in second place atop the leader board to Phil Hellmuth, hovering around the 30th spot.
Hellmuth is the record World Series of Poker bracelet holder who Gambling911.com has been reporting on throughout the last few weeks as having quite a bad streak of luck.
"It would be absolutely remarkable to have Phil make it among the Final Nine," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com. "He would provide a much needed ratings boost."
Last year's November Nine (called that because the final table of 9 is held in November) lacked any type of star power.
