666 Number of the Devil Proves Lucky Number for New York Jets, Tim Tebow

Last night’s Monday Night Football game was the 666th and this fact was not lost by the devoutly religious Tim Tebow, backup quarterback of the New York Jets.

Prior to his team hosting the Houston Texans Monday night, Tebow tweeted about this little known factoid.

While the Jets failed to win outright, bettors (who could be seen by some as “sinners”) made out big as Houston failed to cover the +8 point spread.

In the Textus Receptus manuscripts of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation (13:17-18) cryptically asserts 666 to be "the number of a man," associated with the beast, an antagonistic creature that appears briefly about two-thirds into the apocalyptic vision.

The number 666 is reportedly used to invoke Lucifer (Satan) the dark spirit of seething rage.

Ironically, the number sits prominently among the Midtown Manhattan skyline in large bright red color as the address of 666 Fifth Avenue, home to – you guessed it – the National Basketball Association (NBA) Store.
