Following the US military shooting down a Chinese spy balloon off the South Carolina coast last week, three yet-to-be-identified objects were taken down over North American air space, one off the coast of Alaska, another near the Yukon and one off Lake Michigan.
All three of the objects were being designated as UFOs, which simply means they are Unidentified Flying Objects and not necessarily alien in origin.

In Alaska at least, US military pilots sent up to examine the object gave conflicting accounts of what they witnessed. The Pentagon has been cautious in describing what the object actually is as a result.
