As Gambling911.com reported yesterday, Michael Vick’s agent had agreed to allow Oprah Winfrey a sit down interview with the disgraced NFL quarterback now on the “road to redemption” only if she agreed to cancel a bet with CNN’s Piers Morgan.  The two had wagered on who would land Vick first.  Vick was charged and imprisoned for running a dog fighting ring that encompassed gambling.

On Tuesday night, it is reported that Vick’s agent abruptly cancelled the interview scheduled for Thursday.  No reason was given though there is plenty of speculation.

“Mr. Vick’s representatives called last night to cancel his appearance for personal reasons,” according to a spokesperson for Harpo Productions, which produces the talk show.

The Vick interview would have been his first conducted by someone outside of the NFL since serving time behind bars.

In a statement, per PhillySportsDaily.com, Vick said: “After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22. I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future.”

Morgan has offered to take Oprah’s place should Vick wish to be interviewed by someone else.
