Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2010

Leading up to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2010, held this past weekend, illustrator Evan Munday offered up his opinions on the best and worst comic book series.

Munday is illustrator of the novel Stripmalling and creator of the post-apocalyptic Toronto comic book Quarter-Life Crisis.

Munday tells Mark Medley of the National Post his favorite comic read this year was the Brubaker and Phillips's Criminal series.

"It's like the U.S. Marshals of comic books, and I mean that as a compliment. I also bought this book Stuffed! (by Glenn Eichler and Nick Bertozzi) mainly for the Stephen Colbert endorsement on the cover, and was very pleasantly surprised."

And the worst:

"The worst would be Ayre Force, a vanity graphic novel commissioned by and about Calvin Ayre, the billionaire mangate behind Bodog Entertainment. Remember that movie Mr. Burns had made by Senor Spielbergo in that episode of The Simpsons? This is like that, in comic book form."
