The Nevada Gaming Board has temporarily approved applications filed by Boyd Gaming and Station Casinos to operate online poker rooms within the Silver State.

The Nevada Gaming Commission will take up the matter Oct. 18 to determine final long-term approval.

Boyd Gaming officials said they will wait until the company's online partner, bwin.party gaming, is licensed by state gaming regulators.  Station Casinos affiliate Ultimate Gaming says it will launch as soon as technology permits.
