Many people bet from the same household, dormitory, Internet café, office.  The online gambling website, Canbet.com, may have gone over the top recently when it comes to these so-called "shared environments", opting to close players accounts.

The website forum, Sportsbook Review, recently featured one such complaint from a Canbet customer.

Here is a transcript of a chat conversation between this player and a Canbet representative:

Daniel: i want to talk with someone of the risk department

Cherie: Unfortunately there is noone in risk at the moment if you send through an email I will forward your query to them if you like

Daniel: i don't believe

Daniel: it's the 10th time that i try to speak with someone of the risk department

Daniel: yesterday i been told that someone of the risk department were available at this hours

Daniel: an email? they don't answer the email i sent last week

Daniel: i want you to pass this conversation to one of them

Daniel: i'm tired of this

Cherie: Kindly note your account has been closed and your deposit refunded back to your the same method of deposit account.

Cherie: A detailed investigation showed that you are linked via shared environments which is against our current policies and procedures.

Cherie: Please view our rules for a more detailed explanation on shared environments and our exclusion/deregistration policies. http://www.canbet.com/help/sportsbook_general_terms.aspx

Daniel: i want you to tell me what is sharde environments?

Daniel: and give me proofs of what i done wrong

The player in question claims that Canbet may be using the "shared environment" excuse as a way of not paying him his winnings.

"Now, I know that Canbet close the accounts to all Portuguese customers giving shared environments as reason, we live in the same country, is this shared environments?" the player questioned, making reference to at least three incidents in which Portuguese customers have had their accounts shut down.

Another forum reader supported the notion that Canbet's customer service, at the very least, is a little "rusty".

"I think Canbet has some of the worst customer service among books that largely pay. They routinely don't respond to issues we bring to them despite multiple emails. They run bait and switch bonus scams for such small amouns, one wonders why they don't just stop running them or at least pay out the minimal amounts involved."

The players in question initially filed his complaint during the month of July and to date has yet to receive a verdict related to Canbet.com's investigation and subsequent account closure.

Canbet is licensed and regulated in England (UK) and owned by Australia's International All Sports Ltd. International All Sports Limited.  Canbet is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange.
