Can’t Bet the Belmont Stakes at TVG, TwinSpires From My State

There are a number of state restrictions when it comes to placing a bet on the Belmont Stakes online at either TVG or TwinSpires.  Hundreds of thousands of bets on Saturday’s race will be placed with the few dozen offshore racebooks that do accept customers from these states.

Prohibited states include the following:

Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands.  Most offshore online books do accept residents of these jurisdictions.

A number of these states either do not allow gambling (i.e. Utah, Hawaii) or do not have horse racing.
