An oddsmaker who suggested actor Charlie Sheen would be among those favored as the Hollywood actor with HIV was correct as the act revealed Tuesday morning on NBC's "Today".

During the interview, Sheen insisted he had endangered nobody.

"I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive," the 50-year-old star explained on the morning show. "I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others, which couldn't be further from the truth."

Last week, an oddsmakers told Gambling911.com that, despite the extensive interest in this story, none of the sportsbooks would dare offer odds on such a topic.  The oddsmakers also suggested that Sheen may not have been at the top of the list had odds been offered.

“If we were going to offer betting, Robert Downey Jr. would be right up there and probably a bigger favorite over Charlie Sheen.”

Some of the clues provided by websites that caught wind of the story last week suggested the infected individual admitted to using intravenous drugs and wished to be remembered as a “serious actor”.

“One would think that anyone who slept with Charlie Sheen would have used protection since it was common knowledge he had been involved with a porn star,” the oddsmakers interjected.

Some of the UK media outlets have been especially harsh on what was at the time an unidentified culprit, suggesting that knowingly spreading HIV to unsuspecting suitors is far from being a victimless crime. It does remain unclear as to whether Sheen actually did know he was carrying the disease at the time he had some reported 50 plus sexual encounters, including with porn stars and a transexual.

The Mirror featured a poll “Do You Feel Sorry for the Famous Actor With HIV?”  Nearly 80% of respondents said “No”.

Bookmakers are often reluctant to offer wagering on controversial subject matter following Irish bookmaker Paddy Power's highly criticized Oscar Petraeus murder trial betting options that came with such promos asking in regard to the paraplegic Olympian runner "will he walk".

"The demand (for betting on this topic) was high," remarked Gambling911.com Senior Editor Payton O'Brien, who has been monitoring inquiries and searches throughout past couple of days.

Sheen said he was diagnosies "roughly four years ago" and he told a select number of people. "I've told enough that I trusted to be in the position and the situation that I'm in today." Sheen said he first realized something was off "based on this series of cluster headaches and insane migraines and sweating the bed, completely drenched two, three nights in a row, that I was emergency hospitalized. I thought I had a brain tumor. I thought it was over. After a battery of tests and spinal taps, all that crap, they walked in the room and said, 'Boom. Here's what's going on.' It's a hard three letters to absorb. It's a turning point in one's life."

Sheen also claimed he had paid upwards of ten million to keep some people silent on the issue.

Sheen also told "Today" host Matt Lauer that he had informed his two previous ex wives.
