Vegas Gambling Steam is reporting that boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. laid down $5 million on the San Antonio Spurs to cover the spread in their Game 2 NBA Playoffs game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Whether there is any truth to this latest rumor remains to be seen and Gambling911.com thus far has been unable to verify it.

While there are sportsbooks based out of Costa Rica that have taken million dollar wagers in the past, we certainly have our doubts about the $5 million figure quoted by Vegas Gambling Steam.

That site tweeted this afternoon:

*BREAKING NEWS* Word from several offshore sources (Costa Rica) Floyd Mayweather is back chasing $$ betting 5 Million on Spurs -6

We suppose since he would have won this bet after San Antonio dismantled OKC, Mayweather will tweet about it himself.

Then again, Mayweather's gambling activity will prevent him from purchasing the LA Clippers should that deal end up on the table so he may wish to keep mum.
