Speaking to the New York Post this past week, real estate and casino magnate Donald Trump said that he supported efforts to legalize online gambling.

"Why lose all those billions of revenue?" said Trump, who built Atlantic City's three showcase casinos into that city's biggest taxpayer.

"Online gaming is going to happen, so we might as well have it work to the public's advantage."

The federal measure, approved late Wednesday night by Rep. Barney Frank's House Financial Services Committee, would tax online gambling.

Last season, Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice featured poker pro Annie Duke going up against comedian Joan Rivers in the final.  Ms. Duke testified in favor of legalizing online poker two weeks ago before Congress.

Another casino guru, Steve Wynn, also supports the measure to legalize Internet gambling.
