One of the world's most popular online poker rooms, Doylesroom.com, plans to debut an Internet casino along with its popular card room as the group moves to a new poker network - Cake Poker.

Currently, DoylesRoom is hosted on the Microgaming network, but that South African software firm made a decision this fall to no longer allow new US customers.  DoylesRoom has always had a policy of accepting US customers even at times when they were stuck operating from other networks.  Previously, the online card room had been hosted on another network that stopped accepting customers Stateside.

The Cake Poker network has shown they are dedicated to the US player just as Doyle is.

Doyles move is likely to propel Cake further into the top 10 among online poker rooms (real cash players).  Microgaming may fall a notch or two as a result.

Then there is Full Tilt PokerRumor has it that Full Tilt Poker is about to open an online sportsbook.  If true (and Gambling911.com has yet to confirm it), the folks from the Poker Players Alliance are going to have to get off their "Poker is a skill game and sports betting is bad" high horse.

Both these events would make for a most interesting dicodomy and changing of the guard.

Sportsbook.com is by far the largest online sportsbook in terms of overall customer acquisitions while Full Tilt Poker is number two in terms of largest online poker room.  Sportsbook.com has helped to propel Cake to become the 4th largest online poker network catering to the U.S. market through its own software integration.  And with Doyles Room joining Cake, there is going to be some great competition.  Reminds us a bit of the current banking climate in the U.S..

Stay tuned for the latest details as they become more known.
