Everest Poker Revenues Way Up for Parent Company

Everest Poker's parent company GigaMedia's second-quarter results revealed revenues were up 31% on same period last year to US$52.5m, with operating income growing 18% to US$11.9m.

Shares of GigaMedia Ltd. rose Tuesday after the Taiwan-based online gaming and online gaming software company reported second-quarter profit above analyst expectations.

GigaMedia (nasdaq: GIGM - news - people ) shares climbed $1.11, or 9.5 percent, to $12.80 in afternoon trading. The stock has ranged from $10.16 to $25.42 over the past year.

Everest Poker is a downloadable poker room using GigaMedia software licensed in Kahnawake. It is one of 2 online gaming sites owned by Everest Gaming Ltd. The site's primary language is English.

Everest is also the 6th largest online poker room in the world. They do not accept US customers however.
