Reports Surfaced Thursday that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has placed a $3 million bet on the Michigan Wolverines to beat the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.

That’s a bold move considering most gamblers seem to be backing the Crimson Tide, although Bookmaker.eu customers are on Alabama at just a 55 percent clip.  The line on this game is Michigan +14.

Mayweather is a Grand Rapids native, which could have played a factor in this impressive wager.

The bet was likely placed in Las Vegas though Mayweather is yet to confirm this report.  He is believed to have won $1.8 million on a recent NBA playoff game.
