Harrah's Entertainment knows the value in legalized online gambling and they so desperately want to be a part of it.  The Vegas-based casino company is building a roster of firms to lobby on proposals to legalize online gambling

They just added Capitol Counsel to the list.  That firm registered Harrah's as a client on Monday and paperwork shows it will lobby on Internet gambling and taxes.

Capital Counsel describes itself as such:

Capitol Counsel LLC is a full-service, bipartisan government relations firm providing political analysis, strategic advice, and advocacy services.

The professionals of Capitol Counsel LLC offer clients decades of experience in strategic advice in policymaking and politics.  Many of our professionals have served in senior staff positions for Members of Congress or on key congressional committees, so we know how to effectively navigate politics, policy, and the complex legislative process.

We work closely with our clients to set achievable goals, craft strategic arguments, and devise winning plans to address legislative opportunities.  Because of the breadth of experience of our professionals, our team understands that legislative success requires developing a campaign that provides a strategic plan that takes into account the policy objectives and political implications that motivate members of Congress.

Other firms already on the Hill for Harrah's include the Podesta Group, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, and Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. The company spent $905,515 lobbying in the first quarter of this year, lobbying disclosure records show.

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) has introduced a bill that would soften the ban on Internet gambling, giving the Treasury Department jurisdiction to regulate it.

Harrah's owns the cash cow World Series of Poker and World Series of Poker Europe franchises.
