A British punter (gambler) is claiming he was tossed from Essex bookmaker Joe Jennings after winning a measly £1000.

The 45-year-old said he was ordered not to bet at Joe Jennings again after pocketing the cash from a tenner stake, according to the Daily Record.

Duncan claims he has lost more from the bookmaking firm over the years than he has won.

He said: "A guy from the company called to say they were banning me from betting on horse racing because I am 'too good'.

"I asked them if they had the right guy because I only place small bets and he told me I was also being banned because some bets which ALMOST won would have cost them a lot to pay out.

"That is totally ridiculous - bets which almost win don't pay out, so they are making money every time I lose."

Duncan said he has bet thousands with Joe Jennings over the past few years.

Joe Jennings Bookmakers did not offer a comment on the story.
