Professional poker player Layne Flack issued a statement Saturday confirming he had been arrested in Las Vegas during the early morning hours Friday for speeding, but denies he was under the influence of alcohol

"A test, given by the Las Vegas PD, later revealed that I had a blood alcohol content of zero," Flack said.  "I also took a blood test, as I have nothing to hide."

But Flack, a recovering substance abuser, also claims he was instructed not to take a breathalyzer test, though he does not specify who in particular discouraged him from doing so.

A case number was issued for the serious violation of DUI nonetheless.

Case Number: C0747200A

Charge: DUI LIQ 11.14.010/484.379-1

Statute number: 1104

Flack was scheduled to play in the NBC National Head-Up Poker Championship, which began Friday night.  He was replaced by David Oppenheim, who, at press time, was among the remaining 16 players still in the event.
