Following record breaking traffic for the 2009 Kentucky Derby at Gambling911.com, gamblers were immediately shifting their attention to another big betting event:  Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton.

"This will be the biggest fight of the year so far," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.

Most experts and gamblers were all over Manny Pacquiao at Bookmaker.com where his odds were now at -245.  Ricky Hatton fans will be thrilled to know that their fighter's odds were at +205 for a payout of $205 on every $100 bet.

Pacquiao's fan base, especially back home in the Philippines, is extraordinary.

From the Houston Chronicle:

"The last time Manny Pacquiao displayed his many talents, he stopped Oscar De La Hoya in a fight no one thought he could win. The beating he administered that night not only sent De La Hoya into retirement but cemented Pacquiao's status as boxing's newest star.

"Pacquiao again will be facing a fighter who is bigger than he as he fights for only the third time above 130 pounds. Pacquiao weighed in at 138 pounds Friday, while Hatton was at the class limit of 140 pounds.

"But oddsmakers who saw him dismantle an even bigger De La Hoya make him a 2-1 favorite to beat the once-beaten Hatton and win a title in his sixth weight class since turning pro. Coming off a rugged training camp that Pacquiao believes was his best ever, he's not about to argue the point."

O'Brien noted that a number of online gambling websites were suffering from outages due to the huge demand placed on them by the Kentucky Derby though things were getting back to normal as this fight approached.  10:30 am EST was the time of this all important bout.
