Jeremy Rohrs is suing the company and seeking class-action status, according to court documents.  The lawsuit claims he is suing DraftKings on behalf of himself and “thousands of other” Massachusetts residents who have paid fees to participate in the Daily Fantasy Sports firm’s contests.

The suit, filed in a federal court on Monday, is one of a handful filed in various states across the US including Kentucky and Florida.

Griffin Finan, legal counsel for DraftKings, said at the hearing that DraftKings provides its customers with many protections that Healey's proposed regulations already address.

"Consumers are in the best position to set their own limits," he said.
