At Noon ET Friday, another round of voting was expected to determine who the House Speaker will be, with Republican Kevin McCarthy fighting for his (leadership) life.  The House went through 11 rounds so far to close the day Thursday.

BetOnline has now begun offering odds on the Over/Under number of votes McCarthy will receive with the number now set at 201.5, a number that was down two points after Thursday.  Additionally, BetOnline is offering odds on the Over/Under round of voting.  That number had been set at 9.5 ahead of Thursday's voting.  The Over won bigly.

McCarthy and crew were pulling out all the stops to win over the 20 members voting for someone else to be their leader.

Items discussed in the meetings, according to a Hill source, included lowering the threshold for a motion to vacate the chair, which, in theory, would allow for a single member to oust the speaker.

McCarthy was a -160 favorite to become the next speaker at BetOnline on Thursday morning.  Oddsmakers were actually a little more bullish on the California Republican as his odds were now -225.
