Meet your new neighbor, Mob boss Vito Rizzuto.

One of Canada's best known mobsters was released from a US jail last October after being sentenced to 10 years for various offenses including gambling, racketeering and murder.

He recently settled into the quaint Quebec city of Laval and that has neighbors on edge.

“I’m not comfortable with it,” said a mother playing in a nearby park with her children.  “I have young kids so I'm scared but there’s nothing I can really do about it.”

Her fears may be warranted.

The Toronto Star reported just last month:

Vito Rizzuto’s underworld enemies in Ontario are believed to have conspired with some Montreal mobsters in a war in that city that led to the murder of Rizzuto’s father, eldest son, brother-in-law and several of his closest associates.

Laval Police say they have everything under control.

“We follow M. Rizzuto, and a lot of other people involved in organized crime, said Daniel Guérin who speaks for the Laval police force. “We know more about these people than they know about themselves and we are confident that there is no danger at the moment.”

Rizzuto purchased the home on Patrick Street for $874 000.
