Online Gambling Payment Processor to be Sentenced May 29th

Don Hellinger, who processed payments for a number of online gambling companies during the years 2005 and 2006 is scheduled for sentencing on May 29th on unrelated charges.  It is not immediately known how long a sentence Hellinger will receive.

Hellinger was charged with the illegal distribution of over $40 million in Internet gambling winnings during the years 2005 and 2006 through a money transfer company, Payment Processing, Inc.  His connection to online gambling only came about after a grand jury investigation into other alleged illicit activity.

Hellinger is currently President of Quadra Media,LLC, publisher of Inked, Inked Girls and Freshly Inked magazines.

Oddly enough, Hellinger just released his famed Philadelphia criminal attorney, Fortunado Perri, and hired the services of the Philadelphia law firm Cozen O’Connor, who a day later brought in its partner Barry Boss.

Mr. Boss is licensed to practice law in both Washington, D.C. and Maryland, fueling speculation that Hellinger may have cooperated with authorities in the investigation into Bodog.com and its founder, Calvin Ayre, perhaps during the initial stages.

Bodog, Ayre and three other executives from that company were charged with money laundering back in February after a multi-years investigation spanning back to around 2005.  That’s when Hellinger’s Payment Processing, Inc. began doing business with Bodog.com.

“A coincidence?” a Gambling911.com source pondered.  “I have my doubts.”
