Disgraced online gambling payment processor Daniel Tzvetkoff has been released from a New York jail and potentially cooperating with U.S. authorities, The Courier Mail reported on Tuesday, citing the fact that none of this information appeared on public record.

The young Gold Coast entrepreneur was set free after a closed hearing before a federal magistrate, that paper reported.

Tzvetkoff had been charged with money laundering and fraud.  The young Gold Coast, Australian entrepreneur was captured by authorities in the U.S. while traveling in Nevada for a conference.

The Courier-Mail has since learned that Tzvetkoff entered a plea to a serious criminal charge back on August 23.

The US Bureau of Prisons said he was no longer detained and probation officials confirmed he had been bailed ahead of his trial, which is scheduled for June next year.

"He was released on bail on that date (August 23)," said a spokesman, though the US Department of Justice would not confirm the development.

A number of online gambling businesses claim that they are owed in the millions by Tzvetkoff.
