Over the Topps: Pete Rose Stripped of All Time Hits Record

Topps Baseball Cards has stripped Pete Rose of his all-time hits record on Wednesday.

Rose hit 4,256 during his career but Topps will no longer acknowledge this accomplishment on the back of cards labeled “Career Chase”.

Clay Luraschi, a spokesman for Topps, told ChicagoSideSports.com it was "a simple decision."

Some Baseball fans may not see it this way.

After all, Rose is still listed in the record books for having the all-time most hits and there is no asterick next to his name.

Rose is currently ineligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame due to his widely publicized gambling as a player.

It should be noted that Barry Bonds is still listed as Topps all-time home run leader despite the suspicions surrounding usage of performance-enhancing drugs.
