William Hill

The UK’s biggest bookmaker, William Hill, witnessed a 23 percent year-on-year increase in online net revenues, driven heavily by mobile and in-play wagering.

Mobile gambling alone accounted for 7 percent of the company’s entire revenue with an increase over last year of 600 percent.

In-play betting saw a 95 percent increase.

Will Hill also reported a profit before tax of £126.9m, representing 23 percent increase over the same period in 2010.

Chief executive Ralph Topping attributed the positive numbers to  “outstanding sportsbook growth and innovations in our in-play and mobile offerings.”

Entry into the lucrative Italian market is expected to  raise revenues by “approximately two percentage points” from the current 26% figure in the coming year.
