Powerball Jackpot Up to $320 Million
Rhode Island is looking to extend its lucky streak while other states residents have the opportunity to take part in one of the biggest Powerball jackpots ever.
Rhode Island state lottery officials say the jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing has climbed to $320 million, making it the game’s 4th largest jackpot.
Rhode Islanders hit big Powerball jackpots twice already this year. An 81-year-old Newport woman won $336.4 million in a February drawing. The day after she came forward to claim her prize, another winning Powerball ticket was sold in the state. A woman in her 50s from Smithfield later claimed that $60 million prize.
Powerball is available in a number of states with the most wins coming from Wisconsin and Indiana.
A winner who chooses the cash option would get a lump sum payment of $213.3 million.
